"The stretch of Motter Ave from 12th Street up to the intersection with Highway 15 is rife with speeding traffic and has resulted in numerous accidents with other vehicles and pedestrians. This is a segment of road that ought to be designed as a neighborhood road. Indeed, there are homes literally right on it, some of which face that street. Many of the homes along the road have installed fences or shrubbery to give them some relief from the road noise and views of truck traffic. These accidents and injuries are the predictable outcomes of installing an on/off ramp right next to a neighborhood. Now, what is needed are significant traffic calming measures. Given that a number of apartments are soon to be built in the neighborhood, it is the right time to figure out how to manage all of this traffic. It would be a shame if streets: 14th, Frederick, 13th, and 12th, all become conduits for getting cars from Market to Motter rather than being the calm neighborhood streets they are designed to be."
