Traffic Oval Proposal and Truck Traffic Feedback

"I hope you got all of the previous feedback and will take each one into consideration. It seems to me that most of our neighborhood stands together on one strong complaint: Truck Traffic on our street is unacceptable. While the issue at hand is the traffic oval that you are proposing, it has shined some light on a much bigger issue that we feel should be handled before the traffic oval is even designed, much less budgeted for. Our neighborhood is well established and many of us have lived here a very long time- we have seen the changes in cut-through traffic and truck traffic, and we are fed-up. We know Amazon's distribution center is being built on Gas House Pike and we know what that will do to the already terrible truck traffic problem on our street. PLEASE listen to us- we have made it very clear. Please take the time to look at these pages:

We had twenty large trucks go down 13th street in one day on Wednesday June 28th. And those were the trucks we were actually around to see, and also the only ones we could manage to catch with our cameras since they fly by so fast. The pictures are posted on the website, and labeled as such. If you want to know what our neighborhood wants, it is very clear. This website is not going away- and it does NOT look good. Prospective homebuyers and prospective sellers will see this too- this problem needs to be fixed. We need these trucks to stop. Changing code is one thing, but following through with enforcement is essential. Building a skewed oval traffic circle will funnel trucks through our street to get on to route 15. They are already constantly turning right onto Motter- your traffic oval proposal makes it an easy access ramp. Why not build a circle at N Market and 13th- that will make the trucks go to 26 (as they should already do ) to get on to Rt.15.

Motter is already impossible to cross as pedestrians. We sometimes have to wait upwards of 5 minutes for a car to stop at the school pedestrian crosswalk. How in the world will they stop at every cross street in a busy traffic oval?! It will be almost impossible and very unsafe. Our Speed Humps- why are 13th street's humps FLAT when the ones on 12th are much higher? They were put there at the same time- maybe this should be looked into, maybe it is because we experience so much more cut-through traffic and semi trucks. We have too much traffic on our street, it is ruining our neighborhood. We want answers and we want to be a part of it."
